A common challenge I come across in East Midlands landscaping is dealing with tired, patchy lawns that no longer serve their purpose. Recently, I worked on a project in Loughborough where the client wanted to convert a worn-out lawn into a practical outdoor space combining a patio for seating and areas for planting.
The first step was to assess the existing layout and ground levels. The lawn area was uneven and had poor drainage in parts, so some regrading was necessary. This is important to ensure that the finished patio is level and that planting beds have good soil depth without waterlogging.

To help the client visualize the final layout, I offered a 3D garden design service. This made it easier to tweak elements like paths, seating areas and plant locations before work started. The cost of 3D garden design ranges from GBP 150 to GBP 450 depending on garden size and the number of revisions needed.
Throughout the process, careful attention was paid to site access and drainage to avoid future maintenance issues. Good preparation means the new patio and planting beds will remain functional and attractive for years to come.
