For a professionally laid patio in the Loughborough, Leicester or Nottingham area, most straightforward projects sit broadly in these ranges:
- Indian sandstone: from GBP 80 to GBP 100 per square metre installed.
- Porcelain paving: from GBP 100 to GBP 130 per square metre installed.
- Natural slate: from GBP 90 to GBP 120 per square metre installed.
- Block paving for driveways: from GBP 70 to GBP 100 per square metre installed.
Those are guide figures for normal ground conditions and sensible access. They include materials, labour, sub-base preparation and disposal. They do not include major extras such as steps, retaining walls, drainage channels, clearance or restricted access.
What changes the price?
Ground conditions matter. Heavy clay, poor drainage and large level changes all increase labour and material costs. A patio is only as good as the preparation underneath it, so a suspiciously cheap quote often means the sub-base has been compromised.
Material choice matters too. Indian sandstone gives a warm natural look and remains popular across Leicestershire. Porcelain costs more, but it is frost-resistant, low maintenance and available in very consistent finishes.
Why design first?
A 3D design render lets you see the patio shape, levels, border positions and material colour before anything is ordered. Changing a patio on screen is cheap. Changing it after the sub-base and slabs are down is not.
